How to monitor the web using Google Alerts

Google has a very handy feature called Google Alerts. It allows you to set up alerts for basically any keyword. Setting up a Google Alert is very easy.

First, you go to Then you set up any alert by filling in a keyword. You have the option to set some preferences when it comes to frequency, language. Once you set up the alert you will automatically receive emails based your criteria.

Personally, I use this feature daily to stay on track of the latest news about highly specific topics with regards to, competitor and services.

If you don’t like to receive emails, you also have the option to generate a link to a RSS feed. You can simply add it to your RSS Reader, and stay informed about your Alerts.
